An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Handley Page Jetstream turboprop aircraft in the 200 version, 1:72 scale, made by Amodel. It is the civilian form of a type the manufacturer also releases in military training versions. The kit is short-run and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Jetstream came about at the end of the 1960s as a modern twin-engine aircraft for short routes and for corporate transport. It offered a pressurized cabin, a slender fuselage with a roomy cross-section and a high cruising speed by the standards of the day in this category. The 200 version was among the more capable forms of the original line. The program was dogged by the manufacturer's difficulties, so production later passed to successor companies, and in a modernized form the type went on to a long career with regional carriers.
On a civilian Jetstream the dominant feature tends to be a gloss white upper fuselage with a colored stripe, which makes demands on the surface. Fill and sand the fuselage and make a test coat in a single color, which will reveal any remaining scratches. Mask the windows, or glue them in at the very end. The colored stripe along the fuselage is easier to do as a decal than by spraying, and for a sprayed version use thin masking tape and do not stretch it around the curves. Do not forget a nose weight before the fuselage is closed up. Build the propeller blades to a uniform angle, so that the model does not look untidy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
