A set for adding detail to the cabin of the Nissan Silvia coupe of the S14 generation in the Japanese version with the steering wheel on the right.
Responsibility details are not available.
At home in Japan this car was never called the 240SX. It carried the Silvia designation and was offered in trim levels that enthusiasts recall to this day – a weaker version with a naturally aspirated engine and a sharper version with the turbocharged SR20DET four-cylinder of around 220 horsepower. It was that one which became one of the cornerstones of the drift scene of the 1990s.
The abbreviation RHD after the name means right-hand drive, that is the arrangement every car intended for the Japanese market had. It is not only a matter of the steering wheel being moved: the shape of the instrument panel, the position of the center console and the treatment of the passenger's space all differ. A builder who wants to build a faithful Japanese subject after period photographs will not manage with the left-hand variant.
A scale version of the car is most often photographed through half-open doors or from above without the roof, and that is where the angular outlines of production moldings show. Resin castings hold sharper edges and a finer breakdown of surfaces, so the model stands up to a close look and to a macro lens.
The S14 cars are divided into an earlier and a later version, which differ above all in the front end. The inside stayed common to both in its broad features, so the set will serve builders of either form. Anyone aiming at the later type usually changes the nose as well, which the maker offers as a separate item.
Choose shades rather darker and less glossy; Japanese interiors of the time were predominantly black or gray, and color went at most into the seat inserts.
