An injection-molded plastic kit of the American muscle car Plymouth GTX Convertible of the 1969 model year in 1:25 scale from AMT. It is a modern release of a classic tool; the parts are molded in white plastic with clear parts and rubber tires. According to the manufacturer the kit offers two wheel options and several engine intake options, so you can build the car either faithfully or mildly modified.
The Plymouth GTX was the top muscle car of the Plymouth marque, offered as the more luxurious and better equipped sibling of the Road Runner. The 1969 model year came with powerful V8s: the big-block 440 was standard and the legendary 426 HEMI was optional. The open convertible version was among the most striking and is the most sought-after today. The GTX combined straight-line performance with more comfortable equipment and became an icon of the American muscle car era at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s.
Smooth the body first, spray a primer and paint it in a rich finish (period American classic shades will take a metallic too); for a deep shine, apply a clear coat and polish it. Fit the chrome parts (bumpers, grille, trim) and the glazing only after painting. The engine bay and the interior of a convertible deserve care, as you can see inside a car with the top down. Pick out the redline tires with a thin line. Glue the plastic with a thin polystyrene cement.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
