An injection-molded plastic figure set from Master Box in 1:32 scale. It contains both the dragoon regiment rider and his horse, so it makes a complete mounted scene possible. In this release it is an officer of the dragoon regiment of the Imperial Guard, captured in a moment from the Battle of Friedland in 1807. The figure is conceived as a precise piece of figure sculpture and works well on its own as well as in a larger battle vignette with other figures of the range.
During the Napoleonic Wars the dragoons developed from mounted infantry into a distinct arm of cavalry, a match in battle for hussars and cuirassiers alike. They were trained to fight mounted and on foot and carried out reconnaissance, shock and escort duties. The dragoon regiments of the Imperial Guard were among the elite units.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and clean the parting lines up carefully. Apply a primer before painting. On the uniform, take care over the correct period colors and insignia; pick out the metal parts of the helmet and the equipment with metallic shades and a wash. Build the horse up from a base coat of the coat color with smooth transitions; paint the harness and the saddle separately. A dry brush will bring out the transitions in the folds.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
