Quickboost 1:32 Spitfire Mk.IX — cockpit door is a small resin accessory that lets you build a Spitfire model with the entry door open. It is not a model — the aircraft kit is not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a build, not an aircraft model. The package contains a separately cast resin cockpit door for models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:32 scale. The real door on the left side of the cockpit helped the pilot climb in and in an emergency could be jettisoned; on a model, though, it practically disappears in the closed position. The separate resin part is thin and detailed on both sides, so it can be displayed open with no compromise — and the cockpit of the model comes to life at once, because you can see into it. The accessory is used in place of the part from the original kit. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
For modelers who build the Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:32 scale and want to show the cockpit interior. It is a quick way to bring a model markedly to life — especially if you have invested time or another detail set in the cockpit. Working with resin is simple but assumes basic experience of cutting, sanding and super glue. Check which particular Spitfire kit your box is intended for — accessories of this type are released in versions for different makers of the base kit and the parts are not always interchangeable between them.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as a resin casting. Resin dust is harmful to health — sand wet, with a respirator and in a ventilated area. Super glue bonds skin, so work carefully. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
