A wooden deck for a model of the French battleship Dunkerque in 1:350 scale, complemented by masking sheets and photo-etched parts. Prepared for the Hobby Boss 86506 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dunkerque was a French fast battleship of the 1930s. Her main artillery was concentrated in two quadruple turrets on the bow, thanks to which the silhouette of the ship has an unmistakable layout. Her sister ship was the Strasbourg. Both ships found themselves at the center of events at Mers-el-Kebir in 1940, and the Dunkerque ended up in 1942 scuttled by her own crew at Toulon.
A wooden deck, masking sheets and photo-etched parts for the Hobby Boss kit with kit number 86506 in 1:350 scale. The wooden deck replaces the plastic surface with a real wood grain, the masking sheets help with painting the deck areas and the photo-etched parts supply features that cannot be engraved in plastic at the thickness needed. The extent of the individual sheets is given by the instructions from the manufacturer.
First lay the deck on dry and check the fit against the superstructures and the openings, and only then fix it; the way of fixing it is given by the instructions from the manufacturer. Work from one end to the other and press the surface down step by step so that no air stays underneath. Fold the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, not in your fingers, and glue them with super glue applied with a pin. Stick the masking sheets onto the surface before spraying, not after the paint has dried, and take them off after spraying while the coat is fresh. Treat the wood of the deck with a varnish according to the instructions of its manufacturer.
The ship kit, paints, varnishes and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
