A resin instrument panel completed by steel belts: Eduard LööK 1:48 B-24D Liberator trades simplified plastic for finished color parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LööK range stands on a simple idea: take the two things that draw the eye most in a cockpit and get them out of the box ready. The package therefore contains a printed resin instrument panel with the dials done in color and, with it, STEEL belts, that is photo-etched seat belts of springy steel with printing laid on. Neither of them has to be painted further.
The Liberator was by a clear margin the most numerous American four-engine bomber of the Second World War. The D version was the first built in large series and carried all the typical features of the machine: a slender Davis-profile wing set high on the fuselage, twin vertical tail surfaces and four turbocharged R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engines. Machines of this version flew from England, from North Africa and over the Pacific, and in August 1943 they attacked the Romanian refineries at Ploiesti at low level.
Sand the plastic panel from the kit down flat and seat the replacement on cyanoacrylate glue. First straighten the steel belts, then give them a natural sag with your fingers; steel holds a shape considerably better than soft brass sheet. It pays to wash the resin in lukewarm water with a little detergent before gluing, because of mold release residue.
The set is intended for finishing off a bomber model you already have.
