This is NOT a kit. It is a set of resin wheels and enclosed painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Aires, intended for a model of the German night fighter Dornier Do 217N in 1:48 scale, in the late B version. The cast resin wheels have a finer tire tread pattern, crisper hub details and often a realistic flattening where they meet the ground. The masks make it easier to paint the boundary between tire and hub cleanly.
The wheels are clearly visible on a model and plastic parts tend to be softer in detail. Replacing them with resin wheels is therefore among the most rewarding improvements. The enclosed masks do away with laborious freehand outlining and ensure a sharp transition between the colors.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and sand with respiratory protection, because resin dust is harmful to health. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is an accessory, not a model. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
