Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from Meng presents the American aircraft carrier USS Lexington (CV-2). The model offers a choice between a full-hull version and a waterline variant and stands out for its well-thought-out design and the detail of the superstructures and the flight deck.
USS Lexington was the lead ship of the aircraft carrier class of the same name in the US Navy. She came about by converting a partly built battlecruiser into an aircraft carrier in line with the naval treaties of the day, and she entered service in 1927. She was among the first large carriers of the US Navy and was lost in the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942.
Decide in advance between the waterline variant for setting into a water surface and the full hull for a model on a stand. Glue the tiny parts and any photo-etched elements with cyanoacrylate. Accentuate the deck and the superstructures with washes and dry brushing; for a sea effect, a diorama or a glazed base works well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
