An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter Vought F4U-1D Corsair in 1:48 scale from Tamiya. This box is distinctive in that besides the aircraft itself it also contains a small airfield tow tractor, the Moto-Tug - so you can build a striking little scene of an aircraft being moved on a deck or an airfield. The Corsair can be assembled with folded or spread wings, with the cowl flaps open or closed and with two types of canopy; the box also contains drop tanks, underwing armament and figures. Check the exact marking options against the instructions in the box.
The Vought F4U Corsair was one of the most capable American carrier fighters of the Second World War, and you recognize it by its characteristic inverted gull wing. The F4U-1D version was committed from 1944 and was adapted for attack tasks as well - it carried drop tanks and underwing armament. Small tractors of the Moto-Tug type served to move aircraft around decks and airfields.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin modeling cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit and pick it out before closing the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy while spraying. Decide in advance whether you will build the wings folded or spread. Apply primer and the colors with an airbrush, and apply the decals over a gloss varnish. The tractor and the figures bring the whole scene to life - discreet deck weathering suits it well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
