SX-Art 1:48 Mi-24V Camouflage mask is a set of self-adhesive stencils for spraying the camouflage pattern onto a model of the Mi-24V attack helicopter in 1:48 scale. These are not masks for the glazing but stencils for painting the surface.

The set from the manufacturer SX-Art serves to let the camouflage pattern of the Mi-24V helicopter be sprayed accurately and repeatably on a model in 1:48 scale. The self-adhesive stencils are applied to a base color that is already sprayed and define the areas for the further shades. It is worth distinguishing right at the start what this is: they are not masks for covering the cockpit glazing but stencils following the shape of the camouflage fields on the surface of the airframe.
Camouflage can also be sprayed freely with an airbrush, but on a helicopter with a multitude of protrusions, pylons and transitions it is hard to keep the same shape of the fields on both sides of the model. A stencil solves this symmetry for you and rules out the typical mistake in which the pattern gradually shifts during the work and the left side of the model does not match the right. Compared with a decal solution, spraying also has the advantage that the color really is part of the surface, no glossy film is left anywhere and the weathering then behaves the same across the whole area.
The package contains masking stencils only. The model, the paints and the airbrush are not part of it.
