Resin barrels for the onboard gun of the MiG-23 Flogger in 1:48 scale from Quickboost — a precise detail accessory; it is not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Resin castings of the barrels of the onboard gun for the Soviet MiG-23 Flogger fighter in 1:48 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model, but a precise replacement part for experienced modelers that replaces the blunt, solid plastic barrels from the kit with faithful castings with the right shape and a fine muzzle end. Faithful barrels are among the small things that give the fuselage of a fighter crispness and an authentic look.
The MiG-23 was a widespread Soviet supersonic fighter with a variable-geometry wing and carried a built-in twin-barrel cannon. The muzzle of the weapon is usually molded coarsely and solid in plastic, which looks unfaithful from close up. The resin barrels have a cleaner shape and a more slender end. The accessory is meant to refine an existing MiG-23 model in the same scale, not as a stand-alone kit.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Separate the small castings carefully from the casting blocks with a sharp knife and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Cut the original plastic barrels off the model and replace them with the resin parts, gluing them with cyanoacrylate glue. Repaint the barrels in a metal shade and weather them gently. Because they are small, work over a tray.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
