The PZL SW-4 is a light helicopter of Polish design, created as a machine for pilot training and for all-round civil and military use. It has the conventional layout with a single main rotor and a tail rotor on the tail boom, and it is powered by one turboshaft engine. It sits on fixed skids rather than on a wheeled undercarriage, which is an easily recognizable feature of its silhouette. The glazed forward section of the cabin gives the crew a wide field of view and seats the pilot and several further occupants.
A model of the helicopter in 1:48 scale, a size in which the shape of the cabin and of the tail boom stands out while the finished machine does not take up much space on the shelf. The exact contents of the package, the number of parts, the material and the extent of the decals supplied are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so read them before you start.
Wash and degrease the parts before building, because paint will not form a continuous layer on a greasy surface. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Dry-fit the assembly, above all the joint of the tail boom and the seating of the cabin, where any deviation shows most. Mask the glazed surfaces before spraying, not after the paint has dried. Leave the rotor blades aside until the last moment, as they bend easily.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
