Formable Heki rock foil with the raised relief of a dolomite face, two sheets measuring 40 x 18 cm for building rock on a diorama or a layout.
Responsibility details are not available.
Rock foil is a formable sheet with the raised relief of a rock face. It comes into its own on slopes, in cuttings, by tunnel portals and on the rock massifs of dioramas and layouts, that is anywhere modeling each surface by hand would take many hours. The relief of this version is based on dolomite, a pale bedded rock with sharp edges and pronounced ledges.
The package consists of two sheets measuring 40 x 18 centimeters. Reckon with the fact that once it has been formed and the joints overlapped, the foil will cover a smaller area than its flat size suggests. For a larger rock face it is therefore sensible to buy several pieces at once, so that the relief and the shade match.
Trim the foil with scissors or a sharp blade and lay it on the surface so that the beds of rock run horizontally. Beds run at an angle are distracting over a small area. Lay neighboring pieces with a slight overlap and run the joint along a crack in the relief, where it catches the eye least. Apply paint in thin coats: first an overall base tone, after drying a darker glaze which runs into the crevices, and finally pick the edges out with a dry brush. The way it is fixed to a surface follows the manufacturer's instructions.
The foil suits builders of dioramas and layouts who want a large area of rock quickly. Even a beginner will manage it, because the final impression is carried by the relief and the painting, not by the accuracy of the cut.
Only the sheets of foil are supplied. The paints, the glue and a backing structure are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
