A station platform on a layout has to begin somewhere and end somewhere. It is the end that tends to be the place where an amateur build gives away that it is a model, because a chopped-off edge looks unnatural. This part closes the end of a platform off and joins it to the surrounding terrain, so that the scene looks finished.
The part measures 28 x 14 cm and is intended for H0 and TT scales, that is 1:87 and 1:120. In both sizes it suits railroad layouts as well as separate dioramas on a railroad subject. The same part represents a longer stretch of platform in TT than in H0, because the scale is smaller. The material, the finish of the surface and the recommended way of fixing are stated by the manufacturer.
Try the part out dry before gluing and check the height of the edge against the rails, so that the platform does not look too high or too low. Fill the gap between the part and the terrain with a modeling compound and run scatter material over it; the transition will then disappear. Even the part out with its surroundings in color with a fine glaze and dry pigments, because concrete that looks fresh always sits oddly on a layout.
The part will be appreciated by builders of layouts and by modelers who are building a railroad scene as a separate diorama. The track, the buildings, the paints and the glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
