Heki crumple rock foil with granite relief measuring 80 x 60 cm. Crumpling gives it the shape of a rock face and it keeps that shape.
Responsibility details are not available.
Rock is slow to model by hand and hard to repeat over a large area. This foil shortens that work: it carries the relief of a granite surface, and crumpling creates breaks, edges and crevices in it which it keeps once stretched out. One piece measures 80 x 60 cm, that is roughly 4800 square centimeters of area. That will do for the wall of a cutting, for a slope below a line and for several smaller outcrops in a scene.
First prepare the rough shape of the rock from a backing material. Cut the foil with an overlap, crumple it in your hand and open it out again; repeated crumpling deepens the relief and gives it sharper edges. Then lay it in dry, press it against the surface and only at the end glue it, with a glue suited to your surface. Try how it behaves on an offcut beforehand. Run the joints along a break in the terrain or hide them with rubble and growth, because a straight line in a rock face shows at once.
The relief comes out when you draw a dark wash into the hollows and go over the raised edges with a dry brush and a paler shade. Rock rarely looks one color, so leave room for a hint of green at the foot and for a paler crest, where dust gathers. Try the paints on an offcut; in the shade of a crevice stone tends to be markedly cooler than on sunlit edges.
The package holds foil measuring 80 x 60 cm. The glue, the paints, backing material and other accessories for a scene are not included, unless stated otherwise.
