An air conditioning unit is a small thing that places a scene in time more reliably than most other details. As soon as it appears on a facade, on the wall of an annex or on a flat part of a roof, a building stops being an indeterminate backdrop and becomes a particular house with a life of its own.
The package contains two air conditioning units in 1:35 scale of resin and a photo-etched part. A pair of pieces makes it possible to fill two different places in a scene, or to place them one above the other on a single wall.
Resin is not glued with cement for plastic; use super glue. Separate the photo-etched part with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not by twisting; a bent edge is straightened only with great difficulty. Before painting, wash and degrease everything, and on photo-etch apply a primer meant for metal. A light body comes out well with a fine wash into the grille and with a suggested trace of water running down the wall below the unit. Add the brackets only after gluing, so that they sit exactly on the surface the unit stands on.
The set suits builders of city dioramas and modelers who are building present-day buildings, service premises or a warehouse and want the building to look used. It will also find a use in a display case scene with a civilian setting. A model, a building, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
