A set of colored 3D-printed Quinta elements for a model of the BMW 318i or 320i sedan of the E36 generation from Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. The elements carried on backing decal paper slide straight onto the parts of the kit after a brief soak, so the interior gets its color, modeled relief and small markings with no painting by hand.
The elements of the QD line are printed on backing decal paper and have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the part from the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide it off the paper into place; it holds on a gloss varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 kind, and on a broken-up surface a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as it attacks the printed resin. The metal parts, by contrast, already carry an adhesive layer and go on without water; they only have a sheen and a stiffness of their own, so press them down gradually from the center to the edges.
For builders of car models in 1:24 scale who want the cabin legible without laborious painting of small controls and gauges. It pays off especially on a model with untinted glazing, where the interior is clearly visible. The maker states the scope of the elements and their assignment to the parts in the instructions.
The package holds the interior elements only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
