An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Bergepanzer 38(t) Hetzer recovery vehicle supplemented with a 2 cm anti-aircraft gun, in the early production form and in 1:35 scale from Thunder Model. The kit is marked by a large number of parts, slide-mold technology on the hull and a faithfully rendered interior including the gun and a stock of ammunition.
The Hetzer was based on the chassis of the light 38(t) tank and became the basis of a range of tank destroyers and auxiliary vehicles. The recovery version (Bergepanzer) served to tow and repair damaged equipment in the field; the addition of a 2 cm Flak raised its ability to defend itself against low-flying targets.
Finish and paint the interior and the running gear before closing the hull up, because they are harder to reach once assembled. Use a thin cement for plastic. Mud and dust effects with washes and pigments are rewarding for the weathering; dry-brushing brings the metal surfaces to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
