A detail set for builders of airliners: Airbus A320 with IAE V2500 power – landing set 1:144 captures both the fully extended wing and the shape of the engine nacelles.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set for modelers who want to build their Airbus A320 at the moment just before touchdown. It deals with the two features by which a landing airliner differs most visibly from a machine in cruise: the fully extended wing and the characteristic IAE V2500 powerplant nacelles.
The Airbus A320 is a twin-engine narrow-body airliner of European manufacture. It flew in 1987 and became the first production civil type with digital fly-by-wire controls operated by a sidestick. It was offered to customers with two independent powerplants, and the version with the V2500 from the IAE consortium has a differently shaped nacelle and exhaust section from the variant with the competing manufacturer's engines. The type still forms the backbone of short- and medium-haul routes worldwide and even a complete layman knows its silhouette.
It pays to work in sections and to spray the inner faces of the high-lift devices before they end up in the shadow of the wing. On the real aircraft the exposed bays tend to be considerably lighter than the surrounding skin, so feel free to leave the contrast against the underside of the fuselage noticeable. The nacelles suit a fine semi-gloss and a discreet darker line in the panel gaps.
It is supplied unpainted; paints and glue are not in the package.
