The space that is seen most

On a model of a helicopter the rear part of the cabin is usually the most exposed place. On the real subject the sliding doors slide back in flight, and as soon as the model is built with the entrances open, the viewer looks inside almost without restriction. On the naval Venom version the seats for the squad being inserted belong here, as do the restraint belts, the lockers with equipment and the covers of the plumbing along the sides. That is exactly why a separate sheet came about alongside the set intended for the pilots.

What thin film can do

Large flat walls are a rewarding base for this technology: the color and the riveting come in one step and without the risk that a stroke of the brush will leave a mark. On the floor plates the anti-slip texture stands out, which would otherwise have to be suggested laboriously. Covering a large area evenly is moreover quick, which with a cabin of several square meters of real surface is not negligible.

And what it cannot

The set deals with surfaces, not with volume. It will not make seats, handles, fire extinguishers or cabling out of them; those remain on the plastic parts of the kit or on accessories bought separately. Reckon as well with the fact that with the doors open the ceiling and the transitions between the sheets will also be visible, so it pays to spend time on aligning them.

How to make the work easier

Finish the floor before you glue the side walls in, otherwise the corners are hard to reach. Separate the large sheets from the carrier only just before use and carry them on a damp brush. Once dry, check against the light whether an edge has lifted anywhere.
