This is an aftermarket detail set, not a kit of an aircraft. The set contains one ACES II ejection seat produced by 3D printing in resin at a very fine resolution, together with a small decal sheet of technical stencils. It replaces the basic seat in the cockpit of a model of the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.
The ACES II seat (Advanced Concept Ejection Seat) is the standard American ejection seat used, among others, in the Fairchild Republic A-10, known for its massive seven-barrel rotary cannon and its close air support role. A faithful rendition of the seat lifts the look of an open cockpit considerably.
Carefully separate the parts from the print supports, wash off the residue and degrease them. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Painting in dark gray and black shades is a good starting point, with the detail brought out afterwards by dry-brushing and a fine wash; the straps and clasps come out well with a contrast of color.
This is an accessory supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
