About product

AIR-2 Genie (1 pc, 1:48)

A resin (3D-printed) AIR-2 Genie air-to-air rocket in 1:48 scale from Reskit. The package contains one piece. This is not an airplane model but an accessory for arming the external stores of an interceptor model.

The real subject

The AIR-2 Genie was an American unguided air-to-air rocket of the Cold War, intended to break up bomber formations. It was carried by interceptors such as the F-89 Scorpion, the F-101 Voodoo, the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger and the Convair F-106 Delta Dart. It was fired from the retractable weapons bays of these aircraft.

Building and painting tips

Wash the part in lukewarm water with detergent, separate it from the print supports and clean it up. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting; protect your airways when sanding resin.

Who the set is for

  • builders of American Cold War interceptors
  • modelers who want period-accurate armament
  • more experienced modelers used to working with resin

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
