This set from Red Fox Studio brings a fully pre-colored three-dimensional (3D) instrument panel and cockpit details in thin acrylic. It is neither a kit nor a waterslide decal but a finished surface detail glued straight onto the plastic interior. The Growler is a two-seater, so the set covers the panels of the front and the rear cockpit with the displays for operating the electronic warfare systems, all with hyper-realistic printing and an imitation of the gleam of the glass. It is prepared to suit one particular kit in 1:48 scale. The set is intended for the Meng kit.
The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a carrier-borne electronic warfare aircraft derived from the two-seat Super Hornet. It is intended to jam and suppress enemy air defenses and radar systems. The rear crew member operates the specialized systems, and the equipment of his station matches that. The machine is an integral part of the carrier air wings of the US Navy.
The parts are separated from the carrier fret and glued onto the interior, best of all with super glue (cyanoacrylate); PVA glue is possible as well. The surface can be highlighted gently with a wash and knocked back with acrylic varnish. Before gluing we recommend checking the fit dry.
This is an interior detail accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
