Responsibility details are not available.
A fairly extensive resin set of the landing gear for the Westland Lysander in 1:48 scale, in the variant with wheel fairings. It offers a more accurate shape of the legs and of the fairings and finer surface detail than injection-molded plastic carries. The castings are shaped for the Airfix kit.
The Lysander was a British army cooperation aircraft with outstanding short takeoff and landing qualities, famous for night flights into occupied Europe. The fixed landing gear carried large teardrop-shaped fairings, which did not fulfill an aerodynamic role alone. Fixed machine gun armament was housed in them, along with mountings for detachable stub wings on which light bombs or supply containers were hung. The fairings therefore decisively set the silhouette of the whole machine. A stripped variant is made as well for aircraft without them.
First clear the castings of grease and try dry how they bear against the wing struts. Separate the parts by cutting and level the seating surfaces. The material is joined with cyanoacrylate glue. With the legs of the landing gear it is advisable to strengthen the joints with another drop once they have dried, because they carry the weight of the finished model. The tires come out well with a grayish tone and a light touch of dust at the contact patch.
The set holds only the resin parts of the landing gear, not the whole model.
