Mr. Color transparent blue is a clear lacquer paint of 10 ml. It does not cover but tints the base, so it suits lights, covers and color effects.
Responsibility details are not available.
Transparent shades contain pigment, but in such an amount that the base stays visible. They are used on transparent parts: on outline and position lights, on instrument covers, on color filters and on glass that is to have a tint. Over an opaque base, by contrast, they give a color cast of the kind that suits metal surfaces or the grading of shades.
The basis is a synthetic lacquer, and water would only curdle the binder. It is thinned exclusively by the product of the same brand, whose dose you choose according to the flow through the nozzle. The bottle holds 10 ml. Because the paint does not cover, the final look is determined by the base: over silver it gives colored metal, over white a clean rich tone, over a dark surface almost nothing.
On transparent parts it pays to apply the paint with a brush drop by drop and let it spread by surface tension. Spraying gives a more even result on large areas, but on small lights it is more laborious.
On lights it works well to sand and polish the transparent part first, then apply a silver base into the recess and only then the transparent color on top of it. The light then looks as if it had a reflective surface inside, which a real lamp does.
