A model paint in the shade RAF Sky, the light green-gray used on the undersurfaces of British aircraft and on the fuselage identification band. Standard BS381C/210.
Responsibility details are not available.
Sky is a light green-gray with a distinct cast toward green that the Royal Air Force introduced at the very end of 1940. It is often described as duck egg, and it is precisely that delicate green tone that sets it apart from ordinary light grays. The designation BS381C/210 in the name refers to the shade number in the British standard.
Above all on the undersurfaces of British fighter aircraft of the Second World War and on the identification band around the rear fuselage, which was completed by a propeller spinner in the same color. You will use it every time you build a British machine from the second half of the war and need to set the underside apart from the dark camouflage on the upper surfaces. It also suits small marking elements and accessories where you want a light tone that is not a cold one.
Light shades cover less well than dark ones, so it pays to lay them over a light surface or over a primer and to build the color up from several light coats. Use a thinner intended for this range; the thinning ratio for spraying and for the brush and the drying times are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging. Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before work, so that the settled pigment passes through the whole volume; otherwise the shade comes out differently every time.
The paint is meant for builders of British aircraft and for everyone who mixes their own color schemes and needs a light green-gray base. The thinner, brushes, airbrush and model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
