XHUG09 Aqueous Gundam Michaelis Purple, Semi-Gloss

A mixed shade instead of guesswork

The paints of the Gundam Color line came about so that a builder of robot models would not have to put a shade together himself. Each bottle matches one particular tone from the color scheme of a given machine, so the model gets to the real subject with no mixing and no trials with samples. This shade is purple and belongs to the machine that appears in the Gundam world under the name Michaelis.

A semi-gloss surface

The suffix in the name sets the degree of sheen: the surface stays between flat and gloss. For robot models this is the most used finish, because it resembles the plastic armor parts of the real subject, it does not throw harsh highlights into photographs and, unlike a flat finish, excess filler can be wiped off it after the engraving has been picked out. At the same time fingerprints do not show on it as much as on a high gloss.

• A purple shade of the Aqueous Gundam Color line
• Mixed for the color scheme of the machine with the designation Michaelis
• A semi-gloss finish according to the name
• The water-thinnable Aqueous line
• Suitable for an airbrush and for a brush

Application tips

Stir the paint thoroughly before use, otherwise the shade comes out differently every time. Apply it in thin coats, so that the edges of the parts and the fine engraving that robot models carry over their whole surface stay legible. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the label. Kit parts that snap together without glue are best washed and degreased before painting, and better painted while taken apart, so that the coat does not get in the way at the pins of the joints.

Who it is for

For builders of robot models who want a shade matching the real subject without mixing their own, and also for modelers who find a semi-gloss purple useful in their palette. The thinner, brushes and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
