About product

Aber 1:100 ship railings - vertical bars (a photo-etched accessory)

A fine photo-etched detail accessory from Aber in 1:100 scale in the version with vertical bars. It is not a ship model but railings for fitting out decks, which replace the coarsely molded plastic parts. The vertical bars match the type of railing in which upright rails run between the stanchions in place of horizontal cables.

What the accessory is for

Railings run along the decks, superstructures and passageways of ship models. The photo-etched version has a realistically thin profile that cannot be molded in plastic, and a faithful spacing of the vertical bars. The accessory is universal for the decks of most ships in the matching scale.

Building and painting tips

Take the parts carefully out of the fret with a sharp blade and make the bends over a metal rule or a photo-etch bending tool. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue in small spots. Lay down a primer for metal before painting and spray the paint in thin coats.

Who the accessory is for

  • Builders of ship models in 1:100 scale
  • Anyone after faithful railings with vertical bars instead of plastic
  • More advanced modelers used to working with photo-etched metal
  • Anyone who wants to lift their decks without major surgery

This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a ship model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
