A resin kit of the Soviet river monitor Udarnyj in 1:350 scale from the Czech manufacturer ROP. The package holds resin parts and photo-etched parts and it builds as a waterline model. The model has a smaller number of parts and is therefore among the more approachable resin kits.
Udarnyj was a Soviet armored river monitor committed in the Second World War. Vessels of this type supported ground forces with fire from rivers and inland waterways; they carried gun armament in armored turrets on a low hull that was hard to hit.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The hull was usually painted a uniform gray, which makes the painting easier; bring out the detail with washes and dry highlighting.
The model is supplied as an unassembled resin kit with photo-etched parts. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
