Fw 190D-9 (Michalski) 1:72 from Mistercraft: an injection-molded plastic kit of the German long-nose fighter, in markings associated with the ace Gerhard Michalski.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale represents the German fighter Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9, nicknamed the Dora or the Langnasen-Dora (long nose). The box holds gray plastic sprues, a clear canopy part and waterslide decals for several marking options, including a machine associated with the ace Gerhard Michalski. Mistercraft is a Polish brand offering kits from proven older tooling.
The Fw 190D-9 came about at the end of the Second World War by replacing the radial engine with the Junkers Jumo 213 V12 and its characteristic lengthened nose cowling. The more powerful and faster Dora was among the best German fighters of the closing stages of the war and was deployed from the fall of 1944 in the defensive battles over the Reich.
Glue the plastic with thin cement for plastic, sand the seams and mask the clear canopy part. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush suits the period German camouflage (RLM shades). With older tooling it pays to check the fit of the parts and to fill where needed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
