This resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires brings faithful miniatures of the German 7.92 mm aircraft machine gun in the twinned M.G. 81Z form in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for experienced modelers that replaces or complements the armament of a kit with faithfully cast resin parts.
The M.G. 81 was a German rapid-firing aircraft machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber from the Second World War, used above all as defensive armament. The Z designation (Zwilling) means a twinned pair, that is, two machine guns joined into a single mounted unit with a higher rate of fire. The set is meant to enrich the defensive gun positions and mounts on a model.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the fine casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand with respiratory protection. Prime the metal parts, paint them in shades of oxidized steel and bring them out with a dark wash.
The set is supplied as a resin accessory for a kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
