Injection-molded plastic model of the Russian experimental Berkut fighter in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The aircraft became famous for its unconventional forward-swept wing; it was known as the Su-37 Berkut in the 1990s, and the designations S-37 and Su-47 later came into use for it as well.
The Berkut was a technology demonstrator built to verify the aerodynamics of a forward-swept wing, which promises excellent handling and maneuverability at high angles of attack. It first flew in the second half of the 1990s and remained a single flying prototype; it never reached series production. It served as a flying laboratory for new materials and solutions that fed into further Russian fighter development.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the fuselage joints carefully so that the smooth silhouette of the aircraft stands out. Lay down a primer before painting. Spray the dark camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats. A gloss coat under the decals will stop the edges lifting, and a matte coat will even the final look out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
