Basic Flesh Tone is an Abteilung 502 acrylic paint, the basic flesh shade for painting figures and busts.
Responsibility details are not available.
Basic Flesh Tone is a modeling acrylic paint from the Abteilung 502 brand. Beware of confusion: the brand is known above all for oil paints, but this item belongs to the acrylic line. It is therefore a water-thinnable acrylic which dries quickly, holds on the base once cured, and the brush is washed out after work with ordinary water. The shade stands for the basic flesh tone, the starting complexion on which the face and the exposed parts of a figure's body are built.
The paint is thinned with water or with an acrylic thinner. Never thin it with mineral spirits or an oil thinner; the two chemistries do not agree and the paint will curdle. Shake the bottle thoroughly before work; the pigment settles to the bottom. It holds best on a degreased base, ideally over an acrylic primer. Mixing with the oil line of the same brand makes no sense; they are two incompatible technologies.
For modelers and figure painters who work with a brush and want to have their flesh tones dealt with by one coherent line. Builders of equipment who need to paint the crew of a vehicle or an aircraft will use it too, as will makers of dioramas.
Keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate while working, do not eat or drink, and do not pour paint residues down the drain.
