An injection-molded plastic kit of the British three-engined high-wing airliner Avro 618 Ten from Valom in 1:72 scale. It is a short-run kit intended rather for more experienced modelers, typically supplemented by resin and photo-etched parts. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact package contents go by the enclosed instructions.
The Avro 618 Ten was the British license-built version of the successful three-engined aircraft Fokker F.VIIb/3m, built by the Avro company. The name Ten referred to a capacity of ten passengers. It was a high-wing monoplane with three radial engines and fixed landing gear; the machines served with the airline Imperial Airways and on long-distance routes too, where they wrote themselves into the history of civil aviation.
With a short-run kit count on more careful cleaning up of the parts and on trying the fit dry. Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Take care over the symmetrical seating of the three engine nacelles and the precise seating of the high wing. Metallic paints will enliven the metal areas, and a thin wash the panel lines; lay the decals of the period companies onto gloss varnish and unify the surface with a semi-gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
