An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engined bomber Bristol Buckingham B.1 from Valom in 1:72 scale. It is a short-run kit, typically supplemented by photo-etched and resin parts, intended rather for more experienced modelers. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact package contents go by the enclosed instructions.
The Bristol Buckingham was a British twin-engined bomber of the end of the Second World War, powered by the powerful Bristol Centaurus radial engines. It had defensive armament in the nose and in turrets, and the navigator and bombardier was placed in the characteristic ventral gondola of the fuselage. It took only a marginal part in the combat career - the rapid development of events partly overtook it, which makes it an interesting subject.
With a short-run kit count on more careful cleaning up of the parts and on trying the fit dry as you go. Glue the resin and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, and wash the resin free of mold release agent before gluing. Mask the glazing before spraying; an airbrush is suitable for the British schemes, a wash will pick out the panel lines and a matte varnish will unify the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
