Hawker Siddeley HS.125 Dominie T1 Are Coming 1:72 (Kovozavody Prostejov)

A short-run injection-molded plastic model of the British twin-engine jet Hawker Siddeley HS.125 Dominie T.1 in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). It is the Are Coming edition with its own set of decals. The kit captures the Dominie T.1 version, which the Royal Air Force (RAF) used to train navigators. As a short-run kit it suits modelers with a little experience.

The real subject

The HS.125 grew out of the civil de Havilland / Hawker Siddeley DH.125 business jet. In the military Dominie T.1 version it served with the RAF as a flying classroom for training navigators and as a liaison and transport machine. It was powered by a pair of jet engines mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage; a low-set flight deck and a T-tail are characteristic. The type stayed in service for several decades.

Building and painting tips

With short-run kits it pays to clean the flash off the parts first, tidy the mold seams up and dry-fit everything before gluing (test fit). Glue the plastic with a liquid model cement for plastic and fill and sand the fuselage joints as needed. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats; it is best to mask the cabin glazing.
