About product

Gunze Mr.Color Blue Gray FS35189 (about 10 ml)

The model paint Gunze (Mr. Hobby) of the Mr.Color range in the shade Blue Gray to the federal standard FS35189. It is a solvent-based (lacquer) paint and not a water-based acrylic. The blue-gray shade matches the early two-tone camouflage of the US Navy of the beginning of the Second World War, where it was used on the upper surfaces of aircraft over light gray undersides. The usual bottle volume is roughly 10 ml. It can be applied with an airbrush and with a brush.

Use

  • It is thinned with a thinner from the same manufacturer (Mr.Color or Mr.Color Leveling Thinner).
  • For an airbrush it is thinned roughly one to one up to one to two and applied in thin coats.
  • It is applied in several thin coats on the upper surfaces of a model.
  • It dries quickly, so you can soon go on to painting the lower surfaces.
  • Suitable for the early blue-gray scheme of American naval aircraft.

Who it is for

The paint is meant for builders of American naval aircraft of the beginning of the Second World War who create blue-gray upper surfaces. Because it can be used with an airbrush and with a brush, it suits advanced modelers and capable beginners alike.

Safety note: the product is flammable. Work in a well ventilated space, use a respirator and keep it away from sources of ignition.
