The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a detailed plastic kit. For the exact contents of the box, meaning the number of parts, the decals and any photo-etched parts or metal gun barrel, follow the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
The M36 was an American tank destroyer used from the autumn of 1944. It was based on the hull of the M10 tank destroyer on the proven Sherman chassis, but it received a new open-topped turret with a powerful 90 mm M3 gun. That gun could finally penetrate the frontal armor of heavy German tanks at normal combat ranges, which made the M36 a valuable weapon in the closing stage of the war in Europe. The open turret improved visibility but exposed the crew to fragments and to the weather.
With armored vehicles, first finish the running gear and the interior of the open turret, because it stays visible once the build is done, so careful painting and a wash inside are worth the effort. Spray the base coat over a primer; for US olive drab, light lightening of the upper surfaces works well. Build the weathering with a wash in the corners and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear, and drybrushing will pick out the edges and the tools.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
