An SBS Model add-on set in 1:72 scale with the landing gear for the Fiat G.50/bis kit from Fly.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fiat G.50 Freccia was one of the first Italian all-metal fighters with retractable landing gear. It is precisely the landing gear, with its slim legs and the fine detail of the bays, that shows the difference between a simplified and a well-worked rendering most clearly on a model in 1:72 scale.
Landing gear parts in 1:72 scale for the Fiat G.50/bis kit from Fly. They replace the corresponding sections of the base kit with a rendering that has crisper and deeper detail.
The parts are not polystyrene, and ordinary modeling cement has no effect on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; the joint is firm but brittle, so on load-bearing parts it pays to strengthen it with a short wire pin glued into a pre-drilled hole. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder with fine abrasive paper. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer. The exact procedure for preparing the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Fit the landing gear only once the model has been painted, and check that the model stands level and that both legs have the same rake; the best check is a view from the front against a flat surface.
The set is intended for modelers who want to fine-tune the details of a display model that are noticeable at first glance up close. Working with small parts calls for tweezers, a sharp blade and a steady hand. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
