A modeling paint from the Orange Line of the Hataka brand, a gray shade to the FS 36373 standard named Gripen Grey. Intended for the finishes of modern combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This gray shade from the Orange Line of the Hataka brand is named after the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen multirole aircraft, whose finish it is meant to imitate on a model. Lighter gray tones of this kind took hold on modern combat aircraft in place of busy camouflage patterns and generally cover the whole airframe in one shade. The paint therefore suits other contemporary machines with a similar approach to the finish as well.
The number in the name refers to the American Federal Standard 595, which assigns a five-digit code to shades. The leading three means a flat degree of sheen, and the rest of the number defines the particular tone. The standard is the most common language about colors among modelers, so by it you can easily compare the shade with the paints of other lines, even when they are named differently.
Shake the bottle properly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply it in thin coats and let them flash off between passes, as one heavy coat fills in fine surface detail. The thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, and reach for it when cleaning tools too. A light gray is unforgiving toward the base, so wash and degrease the surface before painting and let a base coat go over it to even the differences between materials out.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
