An add-on set of landing flaps for a model of the Transall C-160 transport aircraft in 1:72 scale, cut for Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Transall C-160 is a twin-engine turboprop tactical transport aircraft of joint French and German production. It has a high-mounted wing, a bulky fuselage with a loading ramp in the rear and landing gear suited to unpaved surfaces as well, so it can land where a larger transport could not manage without an airfield. It flew with the German, French and Turkish air forces and for a number of years served for paradrops, resupply and humanitarian flights. On a wing that large the landing flaps are sizeable and on approach they are conspicuously extended.
The set covers the landing flaps in 1:72 scale and is intended for Revell kits. In a kit the flaps are usually part of the wing and are therefore molded in one piece; a separately made flap is thinner than that and allows even the part that is otherwise hidden inside the wing to be shown. The scope of the set, the number of parts and the position in which the flaps are prepared are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so glue them with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so as not to touch the thin trailing edge. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the inner surfaces of the flaps and of the cut-outs in the wing before you seat the parts, because once they are glued a brush will no longer reach in there. Try the fit out dry beforehand.
For builders of military transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
