Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier Ticonderoga in 1:700 scale from Hasegawa, from the Waterline series. The model is executed as a waterline version and represents one of the famous ships of the Essex class, the backbone of the American fast task forces in the closing phase of the war in the Pacific.
The Ticonderoga belonged to the aircraft carriers of the Essex class in the long-hull variant with its characteristic clipper bow. It entered service in 1944 and soon joined the attacks on the Philippines and on other targets in the western Pacific. In January 1945 it was heavily damaged by kamikaze hits, but after repairs it returned to the fighting, and after the war it served in modernized forms for a number of years more. The Essex class as a whole counts as the most successful class of aircraft carriers of its era.
On an aircraft carrier the flight deck is crucial: paint it first, settle the deck markings according to the instructions carefully onto a glossy base and go over them with a matte clear coat. The hull and the island hold the naval gray-blue tones of the US Navy; paint the small deck aircraft on the sprue and pick the detail out with a pointed brush. A wash on the deck will bring out the wooden sections and the panel work.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
