A newly developed injection-molded plastic kit of the night fighter version of the Mosquito in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. The boxing contains gray plastic sprues and a sprue with clear parts. The decal set offers several marking options for aircraft of RAF and allied squadrons.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine combat aircraft of largely wooden construction, nicknamed the Wooden Wonder. The NF Mk.XXX version belonged to the night fighters and was the first night Mosquito variant with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines with a two-stage supercharger, which gave it high performance at great altitudes as well. Night fighter Mosquitoes protected British airspace and escorted bomber formations against enemy night fighters.
Glue the clear cockpit parts with a glue intended for clear plastics and mask the glazing beforehand. Apply a filler primer before spraying; the smooth surfaces of the wooden structure come out well under an airbrush. Bring the typical night camouflage with its dark shades to life with a subtle emphasis of the panels and restrained weathering of the exhaust stains.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
