The darkest tone in an interior is not meant to be black — Lifecolor Dark Grey FS36081 is a dark gray with which shadow is made on the floors of bays, behind panels and in the corners of a fighting compartment.
Small parts inside a model behave differently from large areas, and the gray Lifecolor Grey FS36176 is made for them — for levers, consoles, bezels and small units.
The mid gray Lifecolor Grey FS36270 is the linking tone in an interior — it neither disappears in shadow nor overrides the details, and it therefore suits the surfaces under glazing.
The insides of landing gear doors, hatches and service covers are the boundary surface between the outside and the interior — and the light gray Lifecolor Grey FS36495 is well set for them.
Instrument panels, side consoles and seat frames — that is where the dark gray Lifecolor Dark Grey FS36118 belongs, holding the role of the main dark tone in a cockpit.
Inside a bay light is missing — and that role is taken over exactly by the light gray Lifecolor Light Grey FS36622 , with which the edges, frames and ceilings of closed spaces are drawn out.
The light sandy gray Lifecolor Israeli Sandgrey 61-73 FS30372 suits the inside as well — the inner sides of hatches, the bays and the surfaces that carry the same tone as the outside.
The sandy shade Lifecolor Sand FS30277 comes into its own twice in an interior — as the base of the inner surfaces of desert vehicles and as the light tone with which edges are drawn out in a bay.
Seat covers, straps and canvas covers in a cockpit need a warm tone — Lifecolor Tan FS30219 is a sandy brown shade that lights up against gray panels in the gloom of an interior.
The darker green Lifecolor Medium Green 42 FS34092 aims at fighting compartments and the space under closed hatches, where the main concern is that it should not drop into black in the gloom.
The green shade Lifecolor Green FS34127 aims where the viewer looks in only through an opening — into landing gear bays, engine compartments and under open covers.
Fading of the upper surfaces is the rule with olive camouflage, not the exception. Lifecolor Olive Drab Weathered FS34088 is a lightened variant of the classic olive, marked with a number from the American Federal Standard.
In a multitone aircraft camouflage a mid green is the link between a dark green and a sandy field. Lifecolor Green FS34102 is a matte green shade marked with a number from the American Federal Standard.
Copper on an aircraft always means a detail, not an area. Lifecolor Copper Gloss is a gloss copper metallic shade for the small elements that stand beside matte camouflage.
A satin surface is the compromise between matte camouflage and glossy markings. Lifecolor Clear Satin is a clear product with no shade of its own that evens out the surface of a finished model.
